Omicron Biochemicals, Inc.

Omicron Biochemicals, Inc. is a privately-held corporation. The company was founded in 1982 by Anthony Serianni and Robert Barker, both then at Cornell University. The company was initially incorporated in the State of New York and its corporate office was located in Ithaca, New York until 1986. In 1986, Omicron was re-incorporated in the State of Indiana and all of its operations were relocated to South Bend, Indiana. The laboratory was located on the University of Notre Dame campus from September 1982 to October 1994. In October 1994, Omicron moved off of the Notre Dame campus to Ironwood Drive in South Bend. The Ironwood Drive facility was used from 1994 to 2006. In the spring of 2006 we will complete the construction of a new laboratory on Hill Street in South Bend. All operations will be moved to the new location on Hill Street in South Bend in March 2006.

Omicron Biochemicals, Inc. develops new and improved methods to introduce stable isotopes, primarily 13C, 2H, 15N and 18O. We specialize in the synthesis of labeled carbohydrates, nucleosides, and their derivatives. We produce both site-specifically labeled compounds and uniformly labeled products.

We encourage inquiries regarding custom synthesis of stable isotopically-labeled compounds, especially those containing carbohydrate constituents. Many D-sugars can also be supplied in the L-configuration. Technical responses to these requests are normally provided within five (5) working days. For those syntheses we undertake, a quotation and delivery time will be provided within two (2) weeks of the initial inquiry.
